Alpha Phi

New Member Education
From the moment you run home to the Big White House, Alpha Phi is there to guide you every step of the way.

Our New Member Program
At Alpha Phi we have a six-week new member program that begins with Bid Day and ends with initiation. Each week, the new members will meet with our New Member Educator to learn about what it means to be an Alpha Phi, as well as how to become involved on campus to have a successful start to their college careers.
Each week the new member is paired up with an “Ivy Linker” from the sophomore pledge class, and they will do things together that week to get to know each other such as getting ice cream, going on a coffee date, going shopping or going to a yoga class together!
In the Fall, new members will be paired with their "big sister" after this Ivy Linker Process! This is a great opportunity for new members to find someone who they can lean on for everything. The Big Little reveal is such a fun tradition of ours!
As part of their new member program, the new members also participate in "Freshman Retreat," a night of bonding that allows them to get to know their pledge class better. As winter break approaches, they gather at the chapter house to help put up Christmas lights, hang ornaments on the tree, and decorate cookies."
Throughout the new member’s first year in our sorority, she will find these moments and countless others to be lifelong memories while quickly becoming acclimated into Alpha Phi.

Hi everyone! My name is Caitlin Kovacich, and I am the vice president of New Member Education and Member Experience here at UNL Alpha Phi. My primary role as the new member educator is to guide all new members through this new adventure and ensure they feel right at home. Joining a sorority for me was both an exciting and nerve-racking experience. I was lucky enough to have some wonderful role models in Alpha Phi that made me feel seen right from the start, and I promise to do the same for each and every girl who walks through our front door.
When I first learned about Alpha Phi, what stood out to me most was the sense of community and the way everyone uplifted one another. The warmth and encouragement I witnessed made it clear that this chapter values connection, growth and authenticity. I want every girl to feel that same sense of confidence and belonging, regardless of where her journey takes her.
Alpha Phi is about more than joining an organization; it is about building meaningful relationships, finding your voice and growing into the best version of yourself. This experience is meant to challenge you, support you and help you discover what you are capable of. I look forward to meeting you, getting to know you and walking alongside you.
So excited to meet you, PC ’26.
Xoxo, Caitlin Kovacich
